Each of our weeklong workshops teaches
participants the day-to-day function of the
application-screening business.
This
controlled setting offers you the opportunity to learn business
practices and marketing concepts in a one-to-one coaching
environment. The small size of each workshop – eight attendees –
means that you will have plenty of time to learn, ask questions
and brainstorm with teachers and other participants.
The first day
of each workshop is devoted to getting to know your fellow
attendees and the Academy staff. Participants will be issued a
new personal laptop computer for their use during the seminar
and to keep on returning home. During the first day the workshop
syllabus will be outlined in detail.
The first day also offers you a chance to load software that has
been customized for your business and spend some time getting to
know the programs.
Each
day's schedule includes topics such as the business concept,
marketing, legal issues and more. As your knowledge of the
business grows, you will gain practical experience as you
conduct real-time data searches in class.
In addition,
we’ll discuss how to structure your business, the advantages of
each type of business, and how to decide which structure best
fits your business goals. You may choose to be a sole proprietor
or decide to incorporate and hire multiple employees and
independent contractors.
By the end of
the workshop, you will have gained the skills necessary to run
your new business, including:
